UNAM Canada: requirements, costs and how to apply to take English courses

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), recognized as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Latin America, launched its call for English lesson.

These programs are aimed at the general public and promise to strengthen the oral and written skills of participants, focusing on academic, cultural and tourist environments.

These courses offered are of different levels, for which the corresponding exam must be taken in order to determine the actual level you possess.

The courses offered will be taken online through their head office in Canada, so it is important to have an internet connection.

The English course will be taught online

One of the courses offered is the 'English B1 – Online program', designed for students with basic knowledge of English who want to progress to an intermediate level. Taught by Canadian teachers, the program, which begins March 25, 2024, takes place over six weeks, with classes scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The program is divided into two blocks, offering students full immersion in language and culture.

Another interesting option is the course 'Interactive English in Canadian Contexts', aimed at people with intermediate knowledge of English who wish to expand their language skills in Canadian cultural contexts.

In the advanced area, the course 'English for academic purposes' focuses on theoretical and practical English teaching for those planning to study in English-speaking institutions. For all courses, prices are established according to the required level. Active UNAM students will benefit from a special rate of $323.93 in Canadian dollars, while public school students or UNAM graduates will pay $340.03 Canadian dollars. The general public has a rate of $349.91 in Canadian dollars.
