The Evangelical Alliance prays for “peace for Panama”

A group of members of the Evangelical Alliance of Panama (AEP) gathered this Saturday at Parque Urracá to carry out a day of prayer for “peace for Panama”.

This group, in this case, chose to organize a peaceful rally in the middle of this social crisis that has lasted for more than 20 days in the Isthmus after the approval of Law 406, which establishes the new contract between Panama and Minera Panama. .

The Evangelical Alliance of Panama (AEP), made up of more than 5 thousand Christian churches, has developed simultaneous days of “Cry of Prayer” in all provinces of the Republic.

In the east of Chirica, the roads are closed, which does not allow the transit of people. As a result, several trucks are blocked with their merchandise. The demonstrators demand the repeal of Law 406.

Business associations have expressed their dissatisfaction with the blocking of streets in different parts of the country. They claim to have suffered losses and will be forced to suspend their contracts.

In the educational sector there have been more than 26 days of strike by teachers who joined the social unrest due to the new relationship between the government of Panama and the Canadian company.

The judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) have convened a plenary session for this November 24 in permanent session, until they render their decision on two of the complaints of unconstitutionality against law 406, whose debates culminate on the 22nd and next.
