“Thank you”, the legacy of Rafa Nadal

Madrid, Nov 23 (EFE).- “Thank you, the legacy of Rafa Nadal” is a new publication on sale this Thursday, written by the Argentine journalist Sebastián Fest, which highlights the sporting and personal evolution and the journey of the Spanish tennis player through dozens of conversations on the stages of the main tournaments of the circuit.

“Thank You” is a journey through the world of tennis which, in addition to interviews between the author and the athlete that show the personality of the athlete on and off the courts, includes testimonies from teammates, rivals and friends from Majorcan.

The publication is also an expansion, update and continuation of another previously published by Fest, “Sin red”, published in 2015. For eight years, Nadal has experienced more success, suffered more injuries and has given the emergence of Carlos Alcaraz, the withdrawal of Roger Federer and the domination of the Serbian Novak Djokovic, among others, which are reflected in the publication.

The release of “Thank you” coincides with the last phase of recovery from the psoas injury in the left leg of Rafael Nadal, who has been on the sidelines of the courts for almost the entire year 2023. Waiting for the public announcement of his return on the courts, this new publication appears from an author who has followed tennis for almost thirty years on the stages of Majorca, Paris, Madrid, London, New York, Miami, Acapulco, Buenos Aires, Shanghai. Melbourne, Dubai and Athens, among others, where the interviews between the author and the winner of twenty-two Grand Slam tournaments took place.

“It is a tight book and at the same time critical, in-depth and surprising; a journey through the world of tennis enriched with exclusive interviews with rivals, friends and others close to the Mallorcan. A necessary tribute to the history and monumental exploits of a unique protagonist to whom tennis and all of Spain owe so much. For this, thank you Rafa,” captures Sebastián Fest on the back cover of the publication.

The author, born in Buenos Aires, has a long career in media such as the German agency DPA or La Nación and was for six years co-president of the International Association of Tennis Journalists (ITWA).

Previously, he published “Enredados”, about Argentina in the Davis Cup, “Sin Red”, in which he followed Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal around the world, and different editions of Messianico, about the life of Leo Messi. EFE
