The plenary session of the City Council began today's ordinary session, the first of the year 2024, by observing a minute of silence for the death of Juan Rubio Ruíz, former councilor and resident of Villanueva de la Cañada and former deputy in the Assembly of Madrid.
During the session, among other issues on the agenda, the proposal of the Municipal Popular Group “for the defense of constitutionalist governments and the condemnation of terrorism” was approved, with votes in favor of the PP and VOX, and the vote against the PSOE. He affirms that the Town Hall of Villanueva de la Cañada refuses to support EH Bildu or any other political force that does not condemn ETA terrorism without cracks; supports all victims of terrorism and defends the agreement between political parties to obtain sufficient majorities to govern municipalities, provided that they are concluded between political forces that respect the rule of law, that respect, respect and apply the Spanish Constitution, which condemns terrorism and supports the victims.
On the other hand, VOX's proposal, “for the development of a municipal ordinance that regulates urban mobility in general and personal mobility vehicles in particular”, was rejected.
