Ukrainian intelligence services have arrested 13 people as part of a major operation against an alleged Russian spy network in the Mikolaiv region, located in the south of the country. For their part, Russian authorities have accused members of the Ukrainian military authorities of “terrorism” for their attacks against Russian territory since the start of the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the European level, the agriculture ministries of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania agreed on a transit corridor for Ukrainian grain to the Baltic ports in order to “relieve pressure” from Kiev on the rest of its borders. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Chmigal has expressed his intention to begin negotiations on the country’s membership in the European Union before the end of 2023.
