Students of the English course of the Escola de Idiomas Sesc e Senac, unit of Goiânia, have the opportunity, during the sixth fair, on October 6, to meet the embassies of Canada and Nigeria, in Brasilia. The 32 students also spent time at the Senac Downtown school restaurant, within the premises of the National Confederation of Commerce, in the federal capital.

During the visit to the Canadian Embassy, the students were welcomed by Marcos Paulo, Senior Trade and Economic Policy Officer at the Embassy. Non-local, they know more details about the country’s history, as well as Canadian cultural characteristics.

During the visit to the Nigerian Embassy, the Sesc e Senac Language School delegation was received by the Ambassador of the non-Brazilian country, Muhammad Ahmed Makarfi. In addition to practicing English or working out, students also have the opportunity to learn more about Nigeria and the clothing of the people.

For student Gabriel Alves, from the Upper 1 English tour, the experience was magical and special. “At home in Canada, we learn more about Canadian universities, geography and history. During our visit to Nigeria, we experienced the culture and it was really very, very, very impressive. “I have to thank Sesc and Senac for giving us this moment,” he stressed.

According to the deputy director of the Language School, Beatriz Tavares, visits to ambassadors are part of the unit’s educational project. In May this year, the students will visit the embassies of South Africa and India. The next visit is planned for the first half of 2024.

“The embassy is the official representation of a government in the territory of another nation and is configured as a foreign territory within a single national territory. This experience is an opportunity for two students to learn more in depth in d other countries, in addition to practicing English. as “the background of each nation”, said Beatriz Tavares.

The cultural exchange was a school partnership with Fecomex Goiás, which is the foreign trade arm of the Goiás State Commerce Federation (Fecomércio-GO).
