A week ago, Western media enthusiastically welcomed the fact that sniper Willy Dobid, aka “Wali,” had volunteered to fight in Ukraine against invading Russian forces. Wali was a Canadian soldier who had participated in missions in the Near and Middle East, from Iraq to Afghanistan. According to the interviews he was able to give before his departure for Ukraine, he had numerous victims to his credit.. Which means he was an excellent shooter.

Today, days after finally announcing his departure, Wali died as a result of the fighting in Ukraine. According to several American media outlets, the Canadian sniper died 20 minutes after joining the Ukrainian ranks fighting against the invading Russian forces. It seems that Willy Dobid was eliminated by the action of Russian special forces in the besieged city of Mariupol.

This shows one thing: the Russian army is not the same as the Iraqi or Afghan army. The armed forces of the Russian Federation are blocked in kyiv and other cities, but this is not a reason to think that it is a second or third category army. They are well trained and equipped troops. Its special forces are among the most effective in the world, but also dangerous.

Other versions of pro-Ukrainian media claim that The sniper is still alive and claimed as many as 11 victims on his first day.. Something that, to date, has not been completely confirmed.
