Following conflicts surrounding Canadian soccer teams, both women’s and men’s, the president of the Canadian Soccer Federation has resigned from his position.

Through a statement, Nick Bontis made his departure from the Canadian project official, recognizing that change is necessary to establish working peace between the women’s and men’s teams. His resignation comes after provincial and local football leaders called for his departure and after the women’s team attempted a strike to demand better working conditions ahead of the specialty world championship.

“While I have been one of the biggest supporters of equity in sport for the Women’s National Team, I unfortunately will not be leading the organization when this happens. “I recognize that at this time, change is necessary.”.

The fight goes on

The Canadian women’s and men’s national team are demanding that the Federation make public its financial practices, including the agreement with Canadian Soccer Business (CSB), the entity in charge of sponsorships and broadcasting agreements. The CSB pays an amount to Canada Soccer each year and keeps the rest to fund the Canadian Premier League.

For this reason, footballers demand conditions for the Copa Mundial that will be released in Australia and New Zealand, and that they will be equipped with the winnings for the varones in the Copa Mundial de Qatar 2022. Our teams demand explanations of the records in the programs This year.
