‘Joker 2’ already has a release date, what do we expect from this sequel?

Almost two months have passed since Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Philips excited the fans from DC Comics with the confirmation of ‘Joker 2’. Luckily for them, the good news doesn’t stop and now the tentative date when the film will hit the big screen has been revealed.

‘Joker 2’ will arrive 5 years after its first film, on October 4, 2024. There are still two years before we see Phoenix play the mythical clown prince again. This coincides with the fact that the first part was released on October 4, but in 2019, this date could therefore become emblematic for later sequels.

What do we know about ‘Joker 2’ so far?

Joker’s second installment has a working title: “Joker: Folie à Deux”, which translates to “Joker: Shared Madness”. Todd Phillips will return to direct and shares screenplay credits with Scott Silver. Of course, the film’s box office is expected to match or exceed that of the first installment, which grossed $1.074 billion worldwide.

Entertainment portals assure that the start of production of “Joker 2” will take place in December. That gamble would secure a future for DC Comics’ movie projects, given that Warner recently announced the cancellation of “Batgirl” after the movie was already filming.
