Confirmation of the LXII Cycling Tour of Guatemala – Diario de Centro América

From November 17 to 26, the LXII International Cycling Tour of the countryauthorities of the Guatemalan Cycling Federationcategory competition USI 2.2.

The multi-colored caravan will travel the country’s main roads for 10 days, crossing 18 departments, leaving its traditional tones to the continent’s most prominent cyclists.

The first stage will start at Saint-Bénito, Petenwith picturesque views around Lake Petén Itzá, until returning to the starting point.

Another feature of this tour will be the route which, on the second day, will have a distance of 203 kilometers between the Castillo de San Felipe, Río Dulce, Izabal and Ipala, Chiquimula; Other factors such as topography will also influence the athletes’ performance, such as having to climb to San Rafael Pie de la Cuesta, in San Marcos, on the fifth day and the next morning they will compete in the queen stage in Totonicapán .

The Guatemalan Cycling Federation thanked the PNC and its special forces Lobos Grill for their support.

Likewise, a high finish at Cerro de La Cruz, in La Antigua Guatemala, Sacatepéquez, was added to the ninth date. In total, 1371.7 kilometers will be covered.

There will be 114 riders from 14 national teams and five foreign teams competing, with prizes corresponding to the general individual leader, the best Guatemalan, the flying goal leader, the mountain leader, the regularity leader (new), the leader U-23 and the stage winner.
