Programming

The program of Cielito Lindo Folk Fest in Montreal 2023 promises a day full of emotions. At 2:30 p.m., SoN SuR and LuNa will delight the public with their traditional Latin American music, transporting them to the roots of the region.

Then, at 3:15 p.m., there will be a Salsa Caleña workshop, with guest teachers from Cali, Colombia, who will teach the most authentic and sensual movements of this popular dance.

At 4 p.m., music lovers can take part in an Argentinian percussion workshop, discovering the rhythms and sounds characteristic of this country.

This year, the festival has the honor of having the special guest udder ruizwho will captivate everyone with his talent and charisma.

Mamselle Ruiz is a Canadian-Mexican singer-songwriter established in Montreal since 2010. She has 23 years of experience in vocal coaching, having studied 3 years of opera at the Escuela Libre de Música, 2 years of jazz at the ‘Escuela Superior de Música, and 2 years of training as a vocal coach under the tutelage of renowned teacher Alejandro Campero.

In addition, he participated in a masterclass with Bobby Mc. Ferrin and Iraida Noriega, and trained with the notable Cheryl Porter. Throughout her career, she has released 5 albums and performed nearly 1,000 shows since 2010. Mamselle Ruiz is also the creator of the Notre Voix, Notre Essence method.

But the highlight of the festival will be at 5:00 p.m., with the main show at the Rialto Theatre. More than 50 professional artists will gather on stage to dazzle the audience with their skills and passion for modern folk dance.
