Canadian rapper Drake surprised his supporters by announcing that he would retire from the stage for at least a year to resolve a health problem that had affected him for several years.
“I probably won’t do music for a while. “I need to focus on my health first and foremost, and I’ll talk about that soon,” the singer said on his SiriusXM show, “Table for One.”
The award-winning artist also noted that he was “suffering from the craziest stomach problems in years.” “I’m just saying it like it is.”
“So I have to focus on my health and I have to do it well, and I’m going to do it. “I have many other things I would like to focus on,” the artist told his audience, without giving further details about his illness.
He also told them in his surprise announcement: “I’m going to lock the studio door for a while. I don’t even know (how much). Maybe a year or so, maybe a little more.
The singer’s announcement comes as his eighth album “For All The Dogs” is released, which features 23 songs that he performs alongside guest artists such as Bad Bunny, Sza, 21 Savage, Chief Kee and Sexxy Red, among others.
Also after last Thursday, he featured his son Adonis, 5, in the video for his new song “8AM in Charlotte,” the second single from Drake’s eighth studio album, which bought Tupac’s ring last July, Shakur sold it at auction for over a million dollars.
