Body of missing Mexican boy found in Canadian lake – Metro World News

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported this Thursday that The body found in Osoyoos Lake on August 22 is that of young Mexican Carlos Tomás Aranda Burgoin, who disappeared on July 7.

Authorities are currently working to determine the cause and timing of Burgoin's death, according to a news release. The announcement comes a day after the body was discovered in Osoyoos Lake in the province of La British Columbia.

Investigation

Canadian police said in a statement that after being informed of the discovery of the body, found about 50 feet from the shore of Gyro Beach, work had begun.with the British Columbia Provincial Coroners Service to identify the man and determine if there is a correlation with the 30-year-old man reported missing on July 7, 2023 in Osoyoos.

Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement saying it had been informed of the discovery and that the organization had “the clothes in which Carlos Tomás Aranda Burgoin was last seen on July 7, 2023.”

The identification of the remains, it was reported at the time, would be done through DNA testing, to confirm ““if it really is Carlos Tomas,” the Foreign Ministry said.
