He indicated that the main countries with international tourist arrivals by air to Mexico in the first six months of 2022 were United States, Canada and Colombia, with 7 million 932 thousand tourists; this is 71.6% more than in 2021, and also exceeding the 7 million 314,000 tourists in 2019 by 8.4%.
Torruco Marqués pointed out that during the first half of the year, the arrival of Americans by air reached 6 million 660 thousand peoplewhich means 50.5% more than in 2021, when 4 million 425,000 tourists arrived, also exceeding 2019 arrivals by 19.1%, which were 5 million 592,000.
He added that the arrival of Canadian tourists between January and June 2022 was 859 thousand 580 tourists, this is 1,443.4% more than the 55,694 tourists who arrived in 2021; being 40.5% far from reaching those captured in 2019, which were one million 445 thousand tourists.
