The Canadian Grand Prix returns in 2022 after a two-year break. On June 18, on the Gilles Villenueve circuit in Montreal, we can see the Mexican Checo Pérez compete for victory.
The driver is considered by many to be one of the best competitors of the season. Despite the fact that his history on the Canadian circuits has not been the best.
The story of Checo Pérez on the Canadian podium
Checo Pérez competed in Montreal in 2012 and secured third place sharing the podium with Lewis Hamilton and Roman Grosjean. Since then he has not been on the Canadian podium again, although there are high expectations for this year 2022 due to his good run in Formula 1.
The Mexican driver has just won second place in the Azerbaijan GP and is second in the drivers’ championship. These recognitions motivated him to aim for victory in Montreal this weekend.
