The 21-year-old won Canada’s fourth gold medal in athletics and 46th gold medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

In the men’s javelin throw event, American Curtis Thompson won gold after throwing 79.65 meters on his final and sixth attempt, earning him the first Pan American gold medal of her career.
