MONTREAL, Canada.- Yucatan students will have more and more opportunities to carry out academic exchanges in the most prestigious universities abroad, thanks to the collaboration that strengthens the Yucatan with higher education institutions when the Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal meets with representatives from Canadian universities to seek opportunities for the state’s youth.
After its successful participation in the COP15 of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, Vila Dosal continues its work program on Canadian territory and this Thursday it held working meetings with representatives of McGill University and the Navitas World Organization, as part of the strategies implemented by the entity for the preparation of university students in the English language.
It should be noted that, thanks to the state program of the international mobility program, this year alone it was possible to send 170 students, by 2023 they will send 340, and by 2024 the intention is to ‘send 500 young people, increasing the number of students each year so that more and more people can take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.
In Montreal, Vila Dosal spoke to the Dean of McGill University, the best university in Canada and one of the best in the world, Carola Weil, the State English Agenda and the State International Mobility Program to ensure that young Yucatecans can have this opportunity to study and stay abroad to learn English.
It should be remembered that, this year, Vila Dosal presented the State Agenda Project in English, whose main objective is to promote optimal language proficiency among children and young people in Yucatan, basic level to the upper level, so that the new generations have this tool for a better personal and professional future, thus contributing to the competitiveness of the State, as well as attracting new companies that come to invest and generate jobs of quality for the Yucatans.
“In this way, we are laying the foundations for our future generations to have a command of English that allows them to access better jobs and this is necessary, because in Yucatan our economy is growing and good sources jobs are generated for who we are, offering our young people the tools they need to have a good quality of life,” said Vila Dosal.

Later, the Governor signed a collaboration agreement with the famous organization Navitas Global which collaborates with universities in Canada and the United States to expand the options where Yucatan students of the International Mobility Program make their stays to learn the English.

After an excellent acceptance of the first edition of the international mobility program, on September 6, 2022, the 2023 call was announced and the results will be published on December 16 this year.
