WWE offered Edge to join the creative team while on injury leave

Canadian fighter Edge was a guest on the podcast Busten Open Radio to promote your documentary on the channel A&E and his match against Damien Priest next Monday on Raw. In this space, rrevealed that WWE offered him a spot on the creative team while he was out of the rings due to injury.

“When I was away, because I broke my triceps, they initially wanted me to be on the creative team. I tried it for about three weeks and felt like I was still an active talent and shouldn’t be there. You know, he didn’t want to ostracize me and that didn’t feel right. So I said, well, who needs help with promotions. Give me seven people and I’ll go deep with them for an hour a day and try to help them find some semblance of something they can connect with and that will result in a promotion because I find out if you have an element of truth. In a promotion, you can bite into it and it should flavor the rest. It’s fascinating to me and fun.”

“Early in my career, I was so often helped by the Bad News Browns, the Rick Martels, the Sweet Daddy Sikis, the Ron Hutchisons and the Bret Harts, that if I’m now able to leverage some of that knowledge and experience, which I’ve had for 30 years, by doing this, then that’s another layer of that pie that I wanted to be able to do again.”

Edge returned to the ring at WWE SummerSlam 2022 attacking The Judgment Day, costing him his tag team match against The Mysterios. From now on, he will face his former disciple, Damien Priest, this Monday, during the show that Raw will offer in Toronto, Canada.
