Spanish center Willy Hernangómez took advantage this morning of his second maximum participation with the New Orleans Pelicans in the victory (113-93) over the Indiana Pacers, while Usman Garuba, with a little less importance, also took advantage of his minutes on the pitch and contributed in the Houston Rockets’ 118-133 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Willy Hernangómez contributed with 7 points (2/5 on baskets and 3/ on free throws), 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block in almost 18 minutes on the field. Naji Marshall was the best -22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists- in a Pelicans, without Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram, who added their third consecutive victory to rank third in the West (22-13).
Meanwhile, in Indiana, Canadian Bennedict Mathurin scored 15 points, in a somewhat mediocre performance, with no player reaching the twenty points. It’s the third defeat in the last five games and they continue to be promoted in the Play-offs.
Finally, Garuba successfully participated in the triple festival that catapulted the Rockets to their first victory after losing five games. The Spaniard scored his only outside attempt and collected three rebounds in 9 minutes on the pitch. Kevin Porter led Houston with 36 points.
