Barcelona players are wearing the owl logo at the Bernabéu and not the Spotify logo, but this change has been agreed with their sponsor, as announced by the Catalan club themselves. This owl is singer Drake’s trademark logo and they use it on the Blaugrana shirt to celebrate that he was the first to reach 50,000 million views on Spotify.
This is how Barça themselves explained in a statement: “One of the key axes of the alliance between FC Barcelona and Spotify is unite football and music to reach new audiences around the world. Now, to bring together these two areas, which share their ability to unite people and stir the emotions of fans, the first men’s football team will take to the pitch in Sunday’s Clásico with a shirt that, for the first time, will not have the logo of its main partner on the front, but the emblem of an internationally renowned artist: the singer and songwriter Drake, winner of 4 Grammy Awards and the first to reach 50 billion streams on Spotify.”
“So on October 16, instead of reading the name of the audio subscription service in diffusion the most popular in the world on the front of Barça’s jersey, spectators watching the game against Real Madrid will see the silhouette of an owl, which corresponds to the logo of the brand promoted by the Canadian singer.
