For many Latinos, the time change is something new, something you have to get used to so you don’t get caught off guard and end up with disappointments for not taking the time variation into account. In this country, two time changes apply, and soon we will experience the change to winter time in Canada.
What you need to know about winter time is:
- This year, the transition to winter time will be given on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
- Digital clocks will automatically move back one hour at 2:00 a.m.
- Analog clocks must be set back manually, it is recommended to do this the day before.
- The change to winter time is a measure that is applied not only in Canada, but in several countries around the world in order to save energy. The United States and Mexico also respect the time change.
What’s the point?
When the summer season arrives, the day rises earlier; however, these daylight hours were not used because people had a schedule and a routine that, for example, prevented them from sleeping even though the city was already illuminated.
By delaying the set time by one hour, people can start their daily activities while enjoying the sunlight; which meant a decrease in electricity consumption. In this way, the time change allows substantial energy savings.
