Ukraine faces nearly 100 Russian attacks in just 24 hours
The Ukrainian army has responded in the past 24 hours to some 90 Russian attacks directed mainly against areas in northeastern and eastern Ukraine, where the biggest fighting between the two sides is concentrated.
As the Ukrainian army general staff reported on Thursday, the Russian offensive is concentrated in the Kharkov region in the northeast and in neighboring Lungansk and Donetsk in the east, both borders of Russia.
“Ukraine repelled attacks near Kupyansk, in the eastern Kharkov region, not far from neighboring Lugansk, and in the Donetsk towns of Lyman, Bakhmut, Adviika and Shakhtarsk”, where, according to the General Staff , “Russia is concentrating its main offensive efforts.”
Precisely, in the strategic city of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian army ensures that the clashes continue “street by street”, since the control of the zone would allow each camp to have a safe corridor to transport weapons and soldiers.
The General Staff also reported that Russia launched 19 airstrikes and 37 multiple rocket launcher strikes in the past day, causing damage to towns and villages and injuring an unknown number of civilians.
Kiev assures that Moscow is maintaining its strong offensive in the area to achieve full control over Donetsk, one of the four regions that Moscow unilaterally annexed last September and has yet to fully occupy.
