Vladdy Jr. Foundation and Canada Fund Create Project for Nizao Students

Santo Domingo (EFE).- The VG27 Foundation, chaired by Major League player Vladimir Guerrero Jr., launched the Career Orientation project, which will benefit 300 fifth and sixth grade high school students from Educational District 03-05, in the municipality of Nizao, province of Peravia.
The project, financed by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives of the Canadian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, aims to enable these students to define their professional interest and to be able to choose an academic or technical-professional career according to their potential, the foundation stressed this Saturday in a note.
The program consists of offering conferences to interested parties, practical workshops on professional identity, trade fairs and technical visits to companies so that they can experience work environments first-hand, among other activities.
In this sense, the vice president of the foundation Astry González stressed that the entity decided to carry out this initiative because it understands that through knowledge it can empower the young people and adolescents of this place.
“We firmly believe that in our municipality there is a lot of talent, we believe that just as Marileidy Paulino, Ketel Marte, Vladimir Guerrero and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. distinguished themselves in sports, these young people can do the same in the professional field,” González stressed.
He explained that 300 places are available for fifth and sixth grade students who wish to participate voluntarily in this initiative, who will be able to formalize their registration through an online form, which will close on the morning of Tuesday, September 17.
For her part, the Canadian ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Jacqueline DeLima Baril, said that this project, in addition to serving as a guide for young people to choose a career, will allow them to explore and discover what they are passionate about, helping them to trace a route that will lead them to the realization of their dreams.
In another step, the VG27 Foundation will offer ongoing support to young people applying to pursue university studies and will subsidize the transportation of the most vulnerable in the project. It will also provide you with a voucher during the first school year for your school supplies.
Likewise, those who opt for technical-professional training will have access to internships in companies in the region. Likewise, scholarships and agreements with companies will be managed to promote placement.EFE
