Kadirov calls for reprisals against the perpetrators of the Kremlin attack
He head of the Russian region of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadirov, appreciated the “restraint” of Russian President Vladimir Putin in responding to the recent drone attack on the Kremlin, but it also affected the need to hold the perpetrators of this offensive accountable for their actions.
“I admire the restraint and wisdom of Vladimir Vladimirovich, who did not succumb to this odious provocation. But the authors will have to answer for this act, regardless of the hemisphere of the Earth in which they are located (…). May those involved in this action suffer just and deserved punishment,” Kadirov said.
The Chechen leader, considered one of President Putin’s strongmen, shared a post on his official Telegram channel where he pointed out that the Kremlin drone attack “is nothing more than a provocation” which “forces” the Russian authorities to “more massive actions”.
For Kadirov, the authors of this offensive hoped that Russia would respond with “massive bombardments of cities”, among other measures, which “would only benefit the provocateurs themselves”, therefore Putin’s cautious response is, in his view, worthy of admiration.
Therefore, Kadirov pointed out that, despite provocations from other countries, Russia must not change its “modus operandi” and continue “special military operation”a euphemism with which Russian and Moscow-affiliated authorities refer to the invasion of Ukraine, which began in late February 2022.
