Cancún, Q. Roo.- Mary Ng, Minister of Commerce of Canada; US Trade Representative Katherine Tai; and Mexico’s Economy Minister Raquel Buenrostro will meet in Cancún July 6-7, where Mexican policies will be challenged by other nations.
The meeting was announced in a statement from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), which said the agency’s director, Katherine Tai, will be in Cancun on April 6 and July 7 to join the conversation.
The governments of the United States and Canada have begun consultations under the North American Trade Agreement (TMEC) on the measures taken by the Mexican authorities regarding the use of genetically engineered corn and the disagreement in the energy sector and mining.
Tai will hold a tripartite meeting with Mexican Minister Raquel Buenrostro and Canadian Minister Mary Ng, with whom he will also hold bilateral meetings, the USTR reported.
