Tower One Wireless deploys towers in Ecuador and Colombia

Canada’s Tower One Wireless built 14 towers for telecom operators in Colombia and Ecuador in November, one more than in October, according to the group’s latest report.

Thus, Tower One reaches 334 deployed towers and 367 tenants in its main markets: Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico. Tenants is the number of customer leases per tower. A space rented to a customer in five towers counts as five tenants.

In November, the firm deployed seven towers in Colombia and seven others in Ecuador. All sites have a 10-year lease term, correspond to projects green field and are distributed in urban and rural areas.

In Colombia, the new towers were deployed in Valle del Cauca (Cali department), Taraza (Antioquia), Bajo Baudó and Litoral del San Juan (Chocó).

In Ecuador, they all settled in the province of Guayas in the cities of Durán, Samborondón and the provincial capital, Guayaquil.

Tower One only focuses on a tailor-made construction strategy for mobile operators, which means that it only builds the towers after signing a long-term lease.

Its main customers are Telefónica, which leases approximately 38% of its sites; WOM Colombia (31%); Millicom’s Tigo Colombia (24%); Altán Redes de México (4%), Claro Colombia (3%) and DirecTV Colombia (1%).

The other customers are AT&T in Mexico and CNT in Ecuador.
