The video, captured with a drone, has thousands of views. According to the Spanish newspaper the vanguard, Kisha was captured in Iceland in 1979. She would have been around three years old. And it has been taken to Ontario (Canada) since 1982.

Her It is known that in the last 40 years she has been a mother five times, although her puppies died a few days after birth or when they were very young. And in those four decades he had about 20 companions, typical of his species (Orcinus orca), but all died or were transferred due to adaptation problems. And she’s been living alone for 11 years, in the same pool, with little contact with humans.

Animal Justice, a Canadian animal rights organization, has been collecting signatures and advocating for the orca’s release for several years. “In Ontario, it is not only illegal to cause physical distress or suffering to an animal, but it is also illegal to cause psychological distress.said the environmental group, recalling a video posted by Phil Demers himself in which the orca appears hitting the glass of the swimming pool, as a sign of the despair in which it must survive due to its captivity in solitude.

On the famous Change.org portal, you can complete the petition to free the animal, through the #FreeKiska campaign.
