At least 10 corpses were discovered in a clandestine tomb, in the town of Los Negritos, in the municipality of Villamar, Michoacan, near the limits with Jalisco.
According Office of the State Attorney General (FGE) of Michoacán, the discovery of the tombs began last Saturday, thanks to an operation in which Specialized canine elements, first aiders from the Civil Protection and the State Police took part.
During the first excavations, the authorities exhumed the bodies of four women and two men, all unidentified and in an advanced state of decomposition.
During Sunday, the authorities exhumed the bodies of three men and a woman, under the same conditions as the first six.
The bodies were transferred to Forensic Medicine Service (Semefo), where the authorities will seek to determine the cause of death, although for the moment it is presumed that the victims were tortured and killed by suffocation or by bullets.
Villamar is a municipality located in the western part of Michoacán, just 70 kilometers from the neighboring state of Jalisco. RB
