This morning, relatives of Carlos Aranda Burgoin, in Oaxaca, demonstrated in front of the National Palace to demand his placement in Canadian territory.
“Because we are poor, they will not help us. » […] just as he helped the young girl from Germany,” commented Ana María Burgoin, the mother of the missing young man, addressing the Mexican authorities to demand their intervention in the search for her son.
His father Octavio Aranda Ortega asked that he not know why the Mexican government is not paying attention to them. “I don’t know if it’s because my son is Oaxacan or why,” he said.
However, during the morning conference they questioned President Andrés Manuel López Obrador about the disappearance of the Mexican. The president responded that he would speak with Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
When did Carlos Tomas Aranda disappear?
Carlos Tomás Aranda Burgoin, originally from Tlaxiaco, was traveling as a tourist with his friend Daniel, and it was he who called his family to report his disappearance. The Mexican was last seen on July 7 in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.
“He studied sustainable tourism and left, he worked in a small hotel, it wasn’t his, but he worked in Oaxaca and on Fridays and Saturdays he organized events, he prepared meals himself dinners for tourists,” Octavio added.
Likewise, the tourist’s father traveled to Canada through the monetary cooperation of relatives. Once there, he organized a search with the support of 20 Mexicans living in that country. The search began in an area where police said his cell phone signal was found.
In late July, his brother Josué Aranda said a message arrived on his cell phone – in English and the Canadian language – saying Carlos had allegedly been kidnapped. Two other family members also received the messages.
