They are looking to install a new solar park in Aguascalientes

Foreign businessmen are analyzing the possibility of installing a new solar power plant in the state of Aguascalientes, announced the Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, Manuel Alejandro González, who pointed out that these investors have already worked on another project in the state.

The official indicated that the Horus Solar photovoltaic plant, located in the municipality of Pabellón de Arteaga, has already started its activities thanks to the obtaining of federal permits. This plant is the result of an investment by Canadian Solar, Kepco and Sprott Korea.

“Recently we were able to get the interconnection permit for a solar farm, which is in Emiliano Zapata, here in Aguascalientes, a Korean and Canadian investment that was already completed, there was $110 million already invested but due from a lack of interconnection might have started to work.”

He commented that after this advance, the same Canadian company is analyzing the possibility of installing a new solar power plant, for which 200 hectares are sought.

“These same Canadian businessmen have expressed interest in increasing their investments here in Aguascalientes and are looking for approximately 200 hectares to establish a new solar park.”

The Horus Solar plant has a capacity of 294,000 megawatts per year.

With this, he acknowledged that the start of operations of the photovoltaic park located in the municipality of Aguascalientes is still in progress, which is currently the subject of legal proceedings initiated by the city council of the capital.

– Of all the factories stopped for lack of permits, how many are missing?

-There were practically two, one was in Emiliano Zapata which is already in operation and the other is the solar power plant of the municipality of Aguascalientes which is still shut down.

In recent days, the secretary of the Aguascalientes City Council, Jaime Beltrán, reported that the lawsuit against the company NextEnergy was still pending, so the necessary interconnection authorizations were not obtained.

He pointed out that the municipal authority is already authorized as a qualified user for the use of electrical energy, but still cannot use the photovoltaic park.

If the claim is not resolved by October, the capital city council must also pay for a second stage of this park, as provided for in the original contract.
