The ‘Water Warriors’ are approaching the eighth

The Spanish women’s water polo team, coached by Miki Oca, won their first World Cup victory in Fukuoka against Israel (22-5), a victory that brings them closer to the round of 16, in a competition where the United States, the Netherlands, Greece, Italy and Hungary remain undefeated.

Spain have enough to add a victory against the weak team of Kazakhstan to secure the second place in Group B and qualify for the round of 16.

In this same group, the Netherlands obtained a victory precisely against Kazakhstan (30-2) which opens the doors to the quarter-finals.

Spain, second in Group B, will face the third in Group A, probably France, who beat China 11-12 on Tuesday. In the other group match, the United States beat Australia without pressing the accelerator (9-5) and will be first in the group. If the “Aussies” beat China in the last game, they will be second.

In Group C, two of the historic teams: Italy and Greece, will face each other for the first place of the match which will measure them on the third day. Transalpinas and Helenas are far superior to their rivals in this group (Argentina and South Africa).

On Tuesday, Italy beat the Africans 24-2 and Greece beat Argentina 21-1.

In Group D, Hungary dominate, having won two games in two games today in a festival of goals against Japan (26-21).

Canada, who beat New Zealand 13-11, and Oceania are tied at one win. The Japanese have yet to score. On the final day, Canada will face Japan and New Zealand against Hungary.
