Sixteen days after the early presidential and legislative elections of October 15, the National Electoral Council (CNE) The numerical results were announced and the period for political issues to present challenges was opened.

This October 31, the plenary session of the National Electoral Council unanimously approved the rnumerical results of the day of the second round of October 15 in which the candidates participated Daniel Noboa Azinof the DNA alliance, lists 4-35, and Luisa Gonzalez Alcivar, of the Citizen Revolution (RC) movement, list 5.

The national monitoring hearing was established on October 19 to know the partial recordings of the vote count coming from the vote reception commissions (JRV) and which are processed in the provincial electoral commissions, in addition to the Special Council for Foreigners.

Elena Nájera, José Cabrera, Esthela Acero, Diana Atamaint and Enrique Pita voted to approve the numerical results.

Until today, the minutes of 23 provinces were approved and they were awaiting Morona Santiago and the Special Council of Foreign Affairs, which includes the constituencies of Europe, Asia and Oceania; Canada and the United States; and Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa.

In accordance with the Code of Democracy, the CNE has one day to notify these results to political parties and candidates so that they can present their challenges.

In this case, the agency has two days to decide; and, if the disagreement persists, political subjects can resort to subjective contentious resources before the Electoral Disputes Tribunal (TCE).

In the CNE projections, it is expected that the elected representatives of the assembly will be installed on November 20provided that no legal appeal is filed against the official results.

In this perspective, it is estimated that at the end of November the credentials will be given to the winning duo of these early elections and that at the beginning of December they will take their positions within the National Assembly.

Otherwise, in the event of complaints, the delivery of powers to members of the national and foreign Assembly as well as to the President and Vice-President of the Republic would be extended until the end of December.

At the end of this stage, the CNE must allocate seats to the fifteen national and six foreign legislators, who are also subject to subjective appeals.

THE early legislative and presidential elections of the first round on August 20 and the second round on October 15 They are the product of the decision of the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, who dissolved the plenary session of the National Assembly due to a serious crisis and internal unrest, provided for in article 148 of the Constitution.
