This Wednesday evening, the Los Cabos International Film Festival launched its 11th edition with the presentation of the film “The Whale”, directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Brendan Fraser.

The story depicts the life of a man who weighs 272 kilos due to a depression he suffered after the death of his boyfriend, for whom he left his family when his daughter was little. They meet when she is a teenager.

Actress Karla Souza has been recognized as “Fantastic Woman” for her work as a performer and producer in her career, and in particular the film “La Caida”, by Lucía Puenzo, which deals with sexual abuse in sport.
“The Fall is a visceral story that helps understand the complexity and difficulty of talking about and naming abuse. It helped me name the abuse I suffered,” Souza said after receiving the award.
This year they are competing eight projects cinema in development for a revival of three million pesos. The Festival will take place from November 9 to 13, 2022.
