The Chilean beach volleyball duo, made up of prominent cousins Esteban and Marco Grimalt, demonstrated their excellence in the sport by putting on an exciting show in the quarterfinals of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
With an unwavering fighting spirit and passionate support from home fans, the Grimalts overcame a tough matchup against Canadian duo Macniel and Russell, who stayed in the fight until the last point.
The first set was a fierce confrontation, full of tension and exciting moments in the arena. However, the Chileans eventually tipped the balance in their favor, closing the first set with a score of 23-21. In the second set, Esteban and Marco Grimalt seemed a little more tired than their Canadian opponents, Macniel and Russell. However, the deafening support from home fans came as a shock to Chile’s beach volleyball golden duo. With extra effort and great determination, they managed to snatch any hope of a comeback from their North American opponents, securing their set victory by a score of 21-18.
With this result, the Chilean duo is progressing steadily towards gold and reaching the semi-finals of the discipline.
