The announcement was made by the national legislator elected on August 20, Patricio Carrillo, who called the decision of the supreme electoral body “shameful, arbitrary and illegal” and the only proof is the new majority which will act in the National Assembly between the correístas. and social Christians.

During the August 25 session, the CNE Plenary decided that Ecuadorian migrants would return to the polls to repeat the votes of national and foreign deputies from the constituencies of Europe, Asia and Oceania; United States and Canada; Latin America, Caribbean and Africa. With this, councilors Diana Atamaint, José Cabrera, Esthela Acero and Enrique Pita accepted the report of the Special Council for Foreign Affairs, which recommended canceling the telematic vote for the dignity of foreign members and the National Assembly, due technical problems that prevented some migrants from registering their vote on August 20. Patricio Carrillo, national legislator elected by the Construye movement, explained that it is unjustifiable that the CNE intends to call elections for members of the Assembly in the second round of elections due to errors committed by the same body, which goes against what the Constitution establishes.

He said that in this decision of the National Electoral Council, the positions of six members of the Assembly are at stake and it is very likely that the last of the members of the National Assembly (Lucio Gutiérrez of the PSP), will lose his seat and enters into that which represents correism. “It is very likely that they will rig this election in some way to increase the number of seats in Parliament and thus guarantee a way out of the current electoral council, which is shameful.

Carrillo commented that in addition to the appeal, the Construye movement will exhaust all legal resources provided by law, that is, it will also apply to the Electoral Dispute Tribunal (TCE), and if the body of electoral justice ratifies the arbitrary and illegal resolution, the only It remains only that the Construye movement submits itself again to an electoral process.

The national legislator has declared that if the arbitrary position of the CNE is ratified in the corresponding bodies, the political organization it represents will prepare to go to the elections, but will demand the necessary guarantees regarding the transparency of the process.
