The bells will ring again in San Andrés. Next Thursday, November 30, children and young people from Prádena will walk the main streets of the municipality dressed in bells to ring them in groups throughout the afternoon. An activity that will start at 5:00 p.m. and with which children will remember their ancestors, since many residents of Prádena were nomadic shepherds and moved their flocks in winter through the Real Soriana ravine towards the southern places in those that had grass. to feed them.
This is an ancestral tradition which is repeated every year, for which the Town Hall wishes to obtain the designation of Traditional Event of Provincial Cultural Interest.
Activities for San Andrés will continue on December 2. In the morning, “The transhumance route” will be carried out through the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental. This route, created in 2018, covers the section of the ravine between Santo Tomé del Puerto and Prádena. In the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m., the boys will ring the bells again in the streets of Prádena. As a highlight, at 8:00 p.m., the historian and journalist Guillermo Herrero will give a conference on the San Andrés festival and a tasting of migas will be offered to participants.

Along with all these proposals, the San Andrés Festival this year has a renewed image, thanks to the work carried out by the designer Mario Barrio Medina, a resident of the town, who created several posters in which the cowboys of San Andrés become several scenes. of drawings.
