In Estados Unidos, este viernes entered into force the ley estatal de Texas that prohibits medical atenciĆ³n related with the affirmation of genero to young trans, since the Corte Suprema del estado anulara el fallo emitted by a jueza de Texas that considered unconstitutional dicha prohibition. The law will not only prevent transgender minors from accessing care related to their gender affirmation, but will also force those in this age group who are already taking transitioning medication to discontinue their treatment. Human rights organizations are appealing this decision. Separately, a federal judge has temporarily blocked a Texas law that imposes restrictions on drag shows. In his ruling, the judge says the law freeze will remain in effect while he deliberates on a more permanent order.
Meanwhile, Canada has issued a travel warning for its LGBTQ+ citizens visiting the United States due to the recent wave of discriminatory anti-LGBTQ+ laws that have recently been passed by Republican-run states.
