Ten Argentines make their US Open qualifying debut

the Rosary Federico Coria and the porteño Camilo Ugo Carabelli will face off this Tuesday in the first round ranking to access the main draw of the US Openfourth and last Grand Slam tournament of the year which will be played from next Monday in New York, in a previous stage which will bring together a total of 12 Argentine tennis players.

Coria, born in Rosario and ranked 92 in the ATP world ranking, will play from the 12th (Argentina time) against Ugo Carabelli (209) and the winner will go to the second round against Federico Delbonis (236) from Azul or the American Martin Damm (398).

Facundo Bagnis (136) of Santa Fe will play American Quinn Vandecasteele (624) and if he passes it will be to Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Alves (170) or Czech Dalibor Svrcina (165).

Francisco Comesaña (161) from Mar del Plata will face Slovak Josef Kovalik (153) and if he passes it, he will then be ahead of the Italian Federico Gaio (216) or the Frenchman Hugo Grenier (139).

Mariano Navone (181) will play against Slovak Lukas Klein (156) and if he overcomes it, he will then face the Japanese Yuta Shimizu (247) or the American Cannon Kingsley (441).

Bragadian Genaro Olivieri (142) He will face the Chinese Juncheng Shang (160) and if he passes him, he will then face the local Michael Zheng (553) or the nationalized Italian Franco Agamenone (197).

Argentine tennis players must pass three rounds of “qualification” to enter the main draw which will feature a total of 128 players who will compete at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, located in New York’s Queen’s district.

The US Openwhich will distribute prizes for 65 million dollars, ensured the presence of nine Argentinian tennis players in their main draws: Francisco Cerúndolo (20), Tomás Martín Etcheverry (32), Sebastián Báez (42), Pedro Cachín (66), Facundo Díaz Acosta (93), Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (100), Diego Schwartzman (116), Guido Pella (210) and Nadia Podoroska (71).
