Tamaulipas begins deep drilling in search of water

In Tamaulipas work started on drilling a deep wellin which, for the first time in the history of the state, satellite technology is used, with the possibility of finding water, to integrate it into the distribution network City of Victoria.

In the presence of leaders of the Semper group, a company that uses Canadian and Mexican technology and with the support of Ukrainian scientists, the governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal Anaya, expressed his confidence in the success of the exploration work, with a large margin of security. , which would make it possible to find a solution in the short and medium term and which City of Victoria does not suffer from water stress problems, as has happened in other neighboring entities.

“I am very confident in this technology; Semper is a caring and ethical company in the way it works,” the governor stressed during the ceremony held at the well behind the Victoria Polyforum.

The governor left open the possibility of bringing this same technology to other municipalities where it is necessary to locate new water sources, such as in the highlands of Tamaulipas.

“I am very happy to start this exploration, with a great safety margin of the successes that are going to be achieved and that we put ourselves before the situations that we have already seen in other entities, which have been subjected to enormous water stress. .and we don’t want him to be present in our capital”.

During the event, Daniel David Pechir Rivera, CEO of Grupo Semper, explained the use of this technology to explore underground waters and finding supply, beyond conventional aquifers, down to 2,000 meters deep.

Underground river detected

For his part, Sergey Levashov, chief scientist of the Semper group, explained that in the case of Ciudad Victoria and based on satellite images, an underground river has been detected, south of the municipality with sufficient water, clean and pure and two points were detected to carry out the drilling works, one between 200 and 400 meters and the other at approximately 400 to 600 meters deep.

“We are confident that we will give positive results and provide water to the whole city,” the Ukrainian scientist said in his message, which was translated by a member of the Semper Group’s management team.

The event was attended by the director of the National Water Commission, Raúl Quiroga Álvarez; the representative of the National Water Commission, Reynaldo Soto García; Luis Lauro Reyes Rodríguez, Delegate of Federal Development Programs, and Victoria City Council Secretary Hugo Reséndez Silva.
