OAXACA, Oax. (apro).- Elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) arrested a man today for the murder of Canadian tourist Víctor Masson, perpetrated on May 15 in Puerto Escondido, confirmed the office of the attorney general of Oaxaca.
Prosecutor Bernardo Rodríguez Alamilla said the arrest was made this Friday afternoon in the streets of Puerto Escondido, pursuant to an arrest warrant, for his probable participation in the commission of the crime of qualified homicide with advantage.
Immediately afterwards, the defendant was placed at the disposal of the judge in charge of the case to determine his legal situation.
According to the criminal file, the victim’s lifeless body was found on May 15 inside his vehicle, which was on the streets of the Arroyo Seco neighborhood of Puerto Escondido, belonging to the municipality of San Pedro Mixtepec.
The municipal police of the place informed the public prosecutor’s office, so the case was brought by the Deputy Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Coast, who deployed a multidisciplinary team who treated the scene of the crime, where they ensured the evidence found on the site to assist in the investigation of this homicide.
