Rivas and the Government Delegation are committed to ensuring coordination between administrations to advance relocations.

This Tuesday, the subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, began a series of meetings on the Cañada Real in Rivas. This first meeting, “a cordial meeting”, took place with Pedro del Cura. Del Cura, former mayor of Rivas, is the municipal commissioner (which includes the commissioners of Cañada Real and Ciudad Educadora).

This meeting, according to the municipality and the central government, “shows the coordination between the administrations involved and with which they seek to give continuity to the work carried out so far.” In addition, they expressed their interest in advancing solutions with the signing of the Rehousing Protocol, “with new momentum”.

Both parties shared the importance of revitalizing the political initiative on the Pact, based on the loyalty and unanimity of all parties involved.

The Government Delegation in Madrid has announced the series of meetings it wishes to organize with the different actors, institutions and associations involved in providing solutions for La Cañada Real. In this context, next Friday, the subdelegate will hold a meeting with the City Hall of Coslada, in addition to also promoting meetings with the City Hall of Madrid and associations such as the Women's Association of Tabadol, the Mediation Team of Cañado or the Luz Civic Platform for Canada Real.

Situation of removals in Rivas

The Rivas Municipal Housing Company (EMV) approved in its 2024 work plan the continuation of “the promotion of monitoring and maintenance (acquisition, conditioning and basic equipment of housing)” of housing intended for rehousing in the Canada Real. In 2022 at the Rivas Town Hall told EMV buying houses. This purchase was made thanks to resources transferred by the State for this purpose. In 2023, EMV acquired 4 housing units outside the municipality and allocated 8 others within the municipality.
These accommodations, explained the EMV at the end of the year, are available in coordination with the municipal commissioner.
