The Spanish men's rugby team beat Canada (42-20) this Saturday during the debut of the new coach, the Argentinian Pablo Bouzain the semi-final of the “La Vila International Cup” and will face the United States next Saturday in the final of the tournament.
Spain overwhelmed the Canadian team in the first half, but in the second the forces were balanced and the North American team, improved in its defensive aspect, managed to regain the score against an opponent stuck in attack.
The North American team took the lead on the scoreboard thanks to a penalty, but Bouza's team reacted with force and with a very solid game, it did not take long to widen the gap after attempts to Tani Bay and Ekain Imaz and the transformations of Iñaki Mateuinfallible all night long.
Bouza's team went away at halftime with a clear 36-6, but in the second half the match was balanced and the Canadians managed to score two tries which reduced the differences (35-20), although Spain closed the match with another try to secure their place in the final.
In the other semi-final, the United States gave Brazil no chance, beating them massively 48-3.
Brazil and Canada will play the match for third place next Saturday at the El Pantano field (4:00 p.m.), while Spain and the United States will play the final of the tournament, organized by World Rugby, on the same stage from 8:00 a.m.
