Early this Tuesday, several unknown assailants shot at the home of Canadian rapper Drake, located in one of Toronto's most exclusive neighborhoods.
Security guard for Canadian musician Drake – winner of 39 Billboard awards – found seriously injured when he was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday May 7 at the door of the mansion that the rapper owns in Toronto, according to police.
Police Inspector Paul Krawczyk told a news conference that the injured man, whose identity has not been released, was part of the Drake's Security Teamwhose real name is Aubrey Graham.
The attack occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday, while several unknown assailants shot at the mansion of 4,650 square meters that the 37-year-old rapper built in one of the most exclusive areas of Torontoknown as the Bridle Path.
Krawcyz would not confirm reports that the shots were fired from a vehicle, but he said police had obtained footage of security cameras who resumes the shooting.
At least one of the photos hit the security guard's chestaccording to Canadian public broadcaster CBC.
Conflict between Drake and Kendrick Lamar
The police spokesperson added that it was too early to speculate on the motives for the shooting, but indicated that authorities were aware of the conflict between Drake and American rapper Kendrick Lamar.
This incident comes as the confrontation between the two men has worsened in recent days.
On May 4, Lamar released the song “Not like us”in which the Californian rapper rehearsed accusations from ten years ago Drake is a pedophile and he has a secret daughter he refuses to acknowledge.
In the video clip released on YouTube, Lamar posted an image of Drake's Toronto mansion illustrated with the icons usually used to mark the presence of convicted pedophiles.
Shortly after “Not Like Us,” Drake made his response known with another song, “The Heart Part 6,” in which he denied being a pedophile.
