Santander financed the international activities of Castilla y León companies with 525 million euros in the first six months of 2022, 27% more than in the same period of the previous year, according to the entity.
This support was aimed both at companies that have developed their import/export activity from Spain, as well as those that have developed their activities abroad, through subsidiaries or affiliated companies in outside our borders. In this regard, it should be noted that More than 4,700 companies in Castilla y León have carried out their international activity with the support of Santander.
In addition to financial support, the second aspect that the bank has strengthened as one of the bases of foreign trade is the flow of international collections and payments made by companies. Santander has developed solutions that allow instant paymentseither between accounts of a group of companies, or to other customers/suppliers.
Currently, more than 90% of corporate customers issue payments overseas through online banking, and more than 75% fund them digitally. Starting this year, Santander corporate clients in Spain can issue immediate international transfers in Brazilian reais to recipients in Brazil, from any entity, from their online bank.
This innovation included in One Trade is offered for the first time by a bank in Europe, and will be launched in other European countries in the coming months. One Trade is part of PagoNxt, the company that brings together the most innovative and disruptive payment companies in Santander. Similarly, Santander has launched new digital capabilities for businesses, integrating a new tracking service for your international goodsin addition to the existing one of collections and payments, so that they can control their exports and imports and have the possibility of checking the status of their shipments in real time at any time.

Finally, currency management is the third essential point for the development of international trade, vital at a time when Spanish companies trade in markets with a currency other than the euro. Santander has improved this operation, with the expansion to 38% of the currency offer for issuing payments, guarantees or opening accounts. It also continues to increase the capabilities of its online platform to contract foreign exchange transactions, also offering individuals the possibility to buy/sell and open an account in another currency.
