Gordon Lewisguitarist in a band canadian rockwas found dead at his home in Hamilton, Ont., on Sunday and believed to have been killed by his own son.

According to local media, the Hamilton Police Department is still investigating the case, but the rocker’s son, Jonathan Lewis, 41, has been charged with second-degree murder and placed under arrest.

The co-founder of punk rock band Teenage Head has been found by police and they have classified the incident as an “isolated” case. Detective Sara Beck, who is leading the case, told a news conference that police were not looking for any other suspects.

“We continue to search for witnesses and review videos in the area,” the detective reported. And although “no positive identification of the deceased has been made due to the level of decomposition”, police said they already know the identity of the deceased.

The other members of the group Teenage Head confirmed the death of the guitarist with a heartfelt message on their Instagram account.

“We are heartbroken and still trying to come to terms with the loss of our friend, bandmate and brother Gord Lewis,” wrote members Steve Marshall, drummer Gene Champagne and Dave Desroches.

“Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew and loved him. Gord was a strength and an inspiration to many. You were taken away too soon,” the post continued.

Lewis co-founded the punk rock band Teenage Head in 1975 with founding singer/drummer Frankie Venom and vocalist Dave Desroches, and the band went on to perform in Canada and the United States before achieving worldwide fame.

Some of the best known songs are “Let’s Shake” and “Some Kinda Fun”. The rocker’s death isn’t the first for the band, as Venom passed away in 2008 after losing his battle with throat cancer.
