the teenage rapper lil tay he died aged 14, according to a statement posted on his personal Instagram.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden and tragic death of our beloved Claire. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This result was completely unexpected and left us all in shock,” the statement read.
The cause of his death, nor the exact date, have not yet been revealed. They also revealed the death of his brotherwhich “adds an even more unimaginable depth to our pain”.
“During this moment of immense grief, we ask for privacy as we mourn this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Claire and her brother are still under investigation,” the statement added.
And he concludes: “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence has left an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
the canadian Claire Eileen Qi Hope, better known as Lil Tay, rose to fame in 2018 when she went viral at just 9 years old by starring in several videos in which showed large sums of money sitting in luxury cars. At the time of his death, he had over 3.3 million Instagram followers.
In one video, he bragged about buying a sports car from $200,000 although he does not have a driver’s license because he is too young.
Her controversial videos also showed her swearing, insulting passers-by or even starting fights while claiming to be the “youngest lexer of the century”.
In 2018, he starred in a three-episode docuseries about his rise to fame titled “Life with Lil Tay”.
That same year, she found herself involved in a furious controversy in the middle of accusations that her father abused her and her brother exploited her. She last posted on Instagram in June 2018.
Her brother Jason, 21, had previously set up a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise $19,000 for the teenager after they both made allegations of physical and mental abuse against his father, Christopher Hope, and his wife, Hanee.
The young rapper has her fans worried after deleting all her social media posts and writing the words “Help me” on his Instagram story.
