Thomas Dausgaard and pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, next week with the RTVE Orchestra
On March 16 and 17, the RTVE Orchestra will receive the pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurkoa 22-year-old Canadian who won first prize at the twentieth edition of the Santander Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition last August.
With the stick Thomas Dausgaard, will offer Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid. The program will also be completed by the second symphony by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
“There Fantasia for piano in A minor which Robert finished on May 5 – they explain from the OCRTVE – would become the first movement of the Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, a page completed in 1845 which his wife premiered on January 1, 1846 at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig Clara, who played it everywhere he went. “Posterity must see us as one heart and one soul,” Schumann wrote to him in a letter in 1839. This work constitutes one of the main “narrative” materializations of this passionate feeling with a transcendent vocation. It is full of allusions to the pianist, her early works and key musical quotes from this extraordinary relationship.”
