In its aim to strengthen international mobility programs, the University of Burgos has published two calls for students who wish to continue their studies abroad next year and who have more than a thousand places for the first time. The vast majority correspond to the Erasmus program, with 892, while 116 are offered for destinations outside Europe, mainly to American destinations.

The most popular initiative among university students in Burgos has just been published and those interested have until January 18 to submit their applications. The highest volume of places corresponds to Italy, with 109 universities that have vacant places, followed by Portugal, with 82. In France, the number of agreements amounts to 34, to 33 in Germany and 28 in Poland . More residually, there are eleven agreements with Romania, nine with Turkey and seven with the Czech Republic, distributing the rest to other countries to add a total of 358 destination campuses.

Among the conditions for access to Erasmus scholarships are those relating to the academic and linguistic criteria required by international academic institutions, as well as others specific to UBU, such as not having given up a mobility granted and accepted for this course, except for those who have withdrawn for a reason that the Commission on International Relations has deemed justified.

Each student must submit a single application to participate in the call without specifying the destination, which he will choose during an adjudication session in a strict order of participation, according to the bases published on the UBU website, where the list and the vacancy offer. When assigning the place, it will be taken into account that they have not previously received European aid and, if they do, that the stay does not exceed seven months.

As for the UBUGlobal program, the process is more advanced and the provisional resolution for the allocation of places is already known, the offer of which has increased to 116 for the next academic year. Brazil is the country with the highest number of vacancies (26), followed by Chile and Mexico with 21 each. Similarly, they increase for the United States (19), while 12 correspond to campuses in South Korea and 8 in Japan. The list also includes Colombia, Canada and Argentina as destinations.

70 students applied for this call, 40 of whom already have a place. These are higher numbers than last year, when 47 people signed up and 30 eventually confirmed. With regard to Erasmus scholarships, 860 vacancies were offered, receiving 441 applications, which were ratified by 323. Their preferences went through destinations such as Italy or Portugal, in the case of the European program, and the rest opted for Chile, Mexico and the United States. . .
