Sanitation officials in New York have asked New Yorkers to limit outdoor activities and warned that “people with heart or respiratory problems, children and the elderly may be particularly susceptible”.

According to the air quality measurement scale, it is in the level 3i.e. 1 “good” and 6 “dangerous”.

The far west is the only region where air quality levels remain moderate.

Monday there was 413 active fires in Canada according to the country’s authorities, who have warned that climate change will make it one of the worst fire seasons on record.

According to data provided by the Government of Canada, the country is recording an unusual number of fires for this period, which have already forced the evacuation of 26,206 people.
