Federal Deputy of the PT, Gerard Fernandez Noronaasked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to “remove his hands from the internal process” of the coalition of Morena-PT-PVEM to choose the Presidential candidate party in the 2024 elections.
At a press conference, he stressed that the president had already given enough signals about who he wanted to relieve him of the presidency and that a candidacy should not be imposed.
“We are in a delicate moment, in a moment when the entire machinery of government must refrain from participating, from advertising one of the people who aspire and I believe, legitimizing, I say this with all the admiration, affection and respect I have for a fellow president who has to take his hands off the process,” he said.

He ratified his aspirations to be the presidential candidate of the Morena, PT and Verde coalition; asserted that he is not a “corcholata”, but a free man
